Dear friends of the DHR,
Back to school for the Universal Declaration of Humankind Rights! With important new signatories, the month of September ends on a high note for the DHR.
New major signatories
Good news for the DHR!
At a parliamentary conference held in Ankara, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean decided to officially support the Universal Declaration of Humankind Rights. PAM is an international parliamentary assembly of an advisory nature composed of 28 member countries and enjoying observer status with the United Nations General Assembly.
In an official ceremony, the President of the Bar of Kasai Central (Democratic Republic of Congo) signed the Declaration on behalf of his bar. With this signature, it supports the DDHu and undertakes to promote it to these counterparts.
A new city brings its support to the DHR!
We are pleased to announce the official signature of the city of Port-Gentil on October 7, by the voice of its Mayor Gabriel Tchango. This signature marks a turning point for the DHR as Port-Gentil becomes the first city in Africa to be a signatory to the Declaration.
Thanks to Carlos Moreno, Scientific Director of the ETI Chair of the IAE of Paris and ambassador of the DHR, the International Association of Francophone Mayors has also joined the ranks of the signatories of the Declaration. The AIMF is a global network of French-speaking local elected officials who share the vision of a sustainable city in which people regain their place at the heart of the urban project.
Finally, the Alternatiba Léman Association also signed the Declaration. Alternatiba Léman is a citizen movement for climate emergency. This movement is organizing a festival in Geneva to raise awareness of local initiatives that contribute to reducing climate change and concrete solutions to build a more inclusive and sustainable society.
