Geneviève Maillet is a lawyer, specializing in commercial, maritime and environmental law. Ms Maillet is also President of the Marseille Bar Association and has built a particularly strong reputation through the cases of Calypso, Commander Cousteau’s iconic boat, and that of the Baudouin engines. In 2012 she launched the “Manifeste pour une éthique de la responsabilité vis-à-vis de l’eau, de l’environnement et de l’humanité” (Manifesto for an ethic of responsibility towards water, the environment and humanity), which is a contribution of civil society to the reflections of Rio +20.
